Kneeling Protestors

“The fate of millions of people — indeed the future of the black community itself — may depend on the willingness of those who care about racial justice to re-examine their basic assumptions about the role of the criminal justice system in our society.”

- Michelle Alexander, The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness

About  RCENJC

Celebrating its 13th year (2012-2025), RCENJC is a coalition of individuals from all walks of life who have a vision for social and economic justice. Comprised of volunteers who are passionate about civil rights, we stand with all those who are marginalized and with organizations that fight against racism, poverty, exploitation, and oppression. We believe the criminal justice system is flawed and needs to be reformed because poor, people of color, immigrants and other oppressed groups are disproportionately punished and imprisoned.

We focus on consciousness-raising, direct action, legislation, and policy change.  The New Jim Crow will end only when the laws and practices that support it are dismantled.
